OracleSun is no more. Oracle has been given the green light by regulatory authorities for it's acquisition of Sun. Now Oracle's plans for Sun are a bit more clearer.

As much as we poked fun at Google's innocence in thinking the Chinese would leave them alone the one good thing to come out of this story (Asides from exposing the Chinese two faced being-nice-while-hacking-every-commercial-company-going charade) is that China's attitude to the internet has been laid bare for all to see.

Google pulling out from china because of hacking

Google just doesn't get China. It never did. It entered the Chinese market in 2006 with a censored search engine. Doing so it angered many human rights activists by bowing to pressure from the Chinese government to censor sites and searches at the whim of the ruling Communist party. So much for the Google motto 'Do No Evil'. Apparently, Do No Evil does not extend to supporting access to information without it being censored.

Twitter logoTwitter has signed deals with both Google and Microsoft to allow it's tweets to be searched in real time. The deals are good news for the micro-blogging site, earning the first of much badly needed revenue.
